The XC9145 is an ultra-low power Step-Up DC/DC Converter. It has a low quiescent current of only 400 nA and maintains high efficiency even at low output current. The PWM/PFM automatic switchover control circuit significantly improves the power conversion efficiency and keeps the output ripple low.
The XC9145 is great for applications where the device will need to be on or in stand-by mode for a significant time as it reduces the power consumption of the battery. This contributes to extending the battery life and reducing the size of battery required. Ideal for application designs such as remote controls, wearable, security systems and IoT.
Available in two PCB space saving packages – the WLP-6-05 package is especially small at only 1.08 mm x 1.28 mm x 0.4 mm.

The internal PWM/PFM automatic switchover control circuit, combined with the ultra-low quiescent current of 400 nA (Typ.) significantly improves the power conversion efficiency at light loads. As shown in the graph below, even at low output currents like 0.01 μA the efficiency remains above 85 % for a range of different input voltages.
At Torex we continuously improve and innovate to solve our customers biggest challenges. Through use of the Load Disconnect Mode, the XC9145 delivers a dramatic improvement to the power loss under sleep mode compared to previous products, decreasing power consumption by 74 % compared to the conventional PWM/PFM XC9142 and 53 % compared to the Low Power XC9140.
So great are the power saving gains in sleep mode that it doubles the life of the battery compared to the XC9142. This gives design engineers the option to opt for smaller batteries in designs where space is at a premium.
The graphs above show the loss comparison with other products, under the following conditions:
Vin=1.8 V -> Vout = 3.3 V, Active: Iout = 10 mA @ 10 ms ⇔ Sleep : Iout = 5 uA @ 10 s
This Step-Up DC/DC Converter is ideal for applications that require to be switching on and off repeatedly such as smart meters. As shown in the charts below the voltage recovers quickly with minimum ripple (noise) maintaining a stable VOUT.
Available in two packages – the USP-6C and the WLP-6-05. At 1.8 mm x 2.0 mm x 0.6 mm the USP-6C is very small and suitable for many applications taking up less area of the PCB compared to other solutions available in the market.
However, if further space saving is needed the WLP-6C is tiny at almost half the size, measuring only 1.08 mm x 1.28 mm x 0.4 mm.
