Synch Step-Up DC/DC Converter with Load Disconnect
THE XC9131 SERIES IS NOW END OF LIFE AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR NEW DESIGNS
The XC9131 is a synchronous boost DC/DC converter with a 0.2 Ohm N-channel driver transistor and a 0.2 Ohm synchronous P-channel switching transistor built-in. The series also incorporates a number of features including load disconnect, CL discharge and soft-start as well as protection circuits which include thermal shutdown and over-current limit.
The load disconnect function disables the connection between the input and output during shutdown. Therefore, as the load is completely isolated from the battery during shutdown, battery drain is minimized.
It should be noted that although the input voltage range is listed as going down as low as 0.65V, the IC cannot actually start-up from this level. The 0.65V value is the Operation Hold Voltage (VHLD) once the IC has started-up. The actual minimum input voltage level required in order for the IC to start-up (Operation Start Voltage or VST1) is 0.9V when an output voltage of 3.3V is needed (using a 33 Ohm load resistor).
The series can be used with low ESR ceramic capacitors.
