Product Description

6MHz Synchronous Buck/Boost Converter

Providing a regulated output voltage from an input supply that can be higher or lower than the output voltage, the XC9306 synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter is ideal for a Lithium Ion applications where the output voltage is within the battery voltage range.

The XC9306 uses 6MHz switching frequency that allows for a smaller size inductor and capacitors, reducing the overall mounting area by as much as half. The buck-boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, PWM controller using synchronous rectification to obtain maximum efficiency. At low load currents, the converter can be switched over to PFM mode (MODE pin: L) to maintain high efficiency over a wide load current range. The input current can be limited to a typical value of 3.1, 1.3 or 0.49A. The output voltage is programmable using an external resistor divider within a range of 0.8V ~ 5.0V and the operating voltage range is 2.5V~5.5V.
