Personal Digital Assistant also known as palmtop computers have many uses: - calculation, use as a clock, calendar, accessing the internet, sending and receiving the E-mails etc.
Block Diagram of Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)
The above block diagram shows the flow of the PDA. In this system a charger is used to charge the battery. Power Management consists of current sense amplifier, charge pump and buck / boost regulator. A microcontroller is employed for the controlling of the system. Audio codec is used for the input and output of sound. Video filter is used to increase the quality of the video which is controlled by the microcontroller.
WLAN is a Wireless Local Area Network; it is a local-area network that uses high-frequency radio waves rather than wires to communicate between nodes.
XC9236 DC/DC Converter carries high frequency radio waves from the WLAN and feed to microcontroller.
Serializer and Deserializer are used to take parallel data and convert it into a serial stream for transmission on a serial link. At the other end, it converts the serial back to parallel data.
LCD display is used for showing the output result on the screen.
