Torex wins award of excellence for Hi-SAT COT DC/DC Converter.

Torex is proud to receive an award of excellence in the semiconductor device division of the “Semiconductor of the Year 2017” awards hosted by the Electronic Device Industry News, for its 5.5V synchronous step-down DC/DC converter XC9273 series, equipped with an original HiSAT-COT high-speed transient response control method.

The Electronic Device Industry News, published by SangyoTimes, Inc., holds the “Semiconductor of the Year” awards annually to recognize products making the greatest contributions to the development of leading-edge electronics and 2017 marks the 23rd year of the event.

Products and technology receiving awards for “Semiconductor of the Year” are selected through voting by the writers of the Electronic Device Industry News, based on criteria including “innovation in development”, “construction of mass production systems”, “impact on society”, and “future prospects”.

Mr. Akihiro Tsumura, editor-in-chief of the Electronic Device Industry News who was also involved in the award selection process, offered the following explanation about the products from Torex which were recognised on this occasion.

“These recently-developed DC/DC converters are products compatible with low-voltage drives such as FPGAs and microcontrollers They are power supply ICs which are essential to ensure proper operation of surrounding equipment when it is necessary to lower drive voltages compared to conventional values. It is likely that there will be more and more such DC/DC converters utilized in the future, but these products were notable for their development as high-precision, compact devices applying original high-speed transient response measures ahead of any others in the field.”
